The PB+J Archives follows the ongoing collaborative practice between local Bendigo artist Pete Byrne and myself. Together we map what it means to collaborate and the dynamics of partnership production. Our practice responds to themes of degradation and reproduction, allowing for a unique tension in our work.
Pete Byrne’s solo practice investigates the body and mind, exploring these themes through enigmatic film photography, as well as printmaking, and bold colourful paintings with stylized figures. My practice explores process, using themes from the Italian art movement Arte Povera, exploring a range of unconventional processes and non-traditional everyday materials.
Together we create mixed media installations, large works on paper, and sculptures. We combine ideas of the body with processes of the everyday.
